Attention Volunteers !!!!

The New Hampshire Chapters of the American Red Cross invite all who are interested in volunteering to join now to help fulfill the mission of preparing, preventing and responding to disasters here and around the country.  Today, thousands of staff and volunteers are working around the clock to offer trainings in response to disaster deployments nationwide.

New disaster volunteers are offered free training courses that build skills such as opening and operating a shelter, feeding large groups of people, counseling disaster victims, and CPR and First Aid. Orientation and training classes are being offered day and night this week at the Red Cross Office on 4 Arboretum Dr in Newington as well as other locations around the state.  For a list of local trainings, please scroll down the page.

Jamie Devlin, Executive Director of the Great Bay Chapter of the American Red Cross says: “We welcome with open arms, any person who is willing to give their time to train and be ready when they are called to serve – either locally or nationally.  Volunteers who are trained and ready to assist in the Gulf States must be in good health, able to endure hardship situations and be willing to assist for three week intervals. If giving your time is not an option for you, some others ways to help include giving blood or money.”

Currently, 19 volunteers have been deployed to the Gulf States by the New Hampshire Chapters of the American Red Cross.  The American National Red Cross has already spent $12 million in response to Hurricane Gustav.  This money has been used to make sure people and supplies are in place and ready to move as soon as the storm has passed.

Prior to coming in for orientation or training, please review the documents below and bring completed forms when attending the orientation.

America's Biggest Disaster Threat

Recently, the Seacoast region has experienced an increase in the number of homes fires,
some of those fires families have lost everything.
The yearly toll of home fires on families and communities is staggering. According to the
U.S. Fire Administration, the number of residential fires has increase 4% since 200,
while the Red Cross response to home fires has increased 10% since 2000.

Tragically, all of this loss, suffering and even death can often be prevented.

The Great Bay Chapter of the American Red Cross is committed to responding to meet
the needs of anyone in the community affected by a home fire.

Please contact us to learn more about how you can keep your family safe from a fire before it happens.

Be Red Cross Ready

Remember you can help those affected by home fires by making a financial donation to the

Great Bay Chapter Today.
